Arnout Devos is the Scientific Coordinator of the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS) and a Staff Member & Lecturer at the ETH AI Center of ETH Zurich, where they also co-head the European Leadership in Innovation with AI and Science (ELIAS) Alliance Node Zurich. They focus on research and education efforts in Artificial Intelligence (AI), including generative AI and entrepreneurship. Previously, Arnout obtained their PhD in Machine Learning from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), supported by a Marie-Skłodowska Curie Fellowship, and a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Southern California (USC), supported by a Belgian American Education Foundation Fellowship. They have also conducted AI research at Amazon, Spotify, and Stanford University. They co-founded AI EdTech startup OkNoName.com and built out student-led pre-seed VC fund S2S Ventures, leading its four first investments, including one successful exit and three seed rounds.
