Carles Sierra is a leading researcher in Artificial Intelligence, specialising in multi-agent systems, agreement technologies, and social AI. He is a former President of EurAI and currently a Fellow of both EurAI and ELLIS. His contributions to AI have been recognised with the IJCAI Distinguished Service Award, the EurAI Distinguished Service Award, and the ACM/SIGAI Autonomous Agents Research Award. Throughout his career, he has advanced foundational and applied research in AI, mentored numerous researchers, and helped shape the European AI research landscape, with a strong focus on human-centered and ethically aligned intelligent systems.
